Morocco Travel tour itinerary in 11 days from Marrakech

1st Day : Land in Marrakech

Upon your arrival at Marrakech, your Private English-speaking driver will meet you and then escort you to your hotel, where you’ll spend the first night of your 11 days in Morocco travel tour itinerary.

2nd Day : Marrakech City Tour

After breakfast, you’ll begin your guided tour of the Medina, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures. Thereafter, take a walk back to view the Grand Mosque of Koutoubia, with its minaret dominating the Marrakech skyline. 

After lunch and plenty of free time, continue on to the beautiful Garden of Majorelle, which was designed by the French Artist Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s. Next, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum nearby is also well worth a visit. Afterward, return to Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where you can take a moment to watch the dancers, snake charmers, storytellers and acrobats. The balance of the day is yours, wander more around the Medina walls, discover the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco.

3rd Day : Marrakech >> Ouarzazate >> Kalaat M'gouna >> Boumalne Dades

After breakfast, you will set off to Boumalne Dades via Ait ben haddou kasbah. Tucked away in Tizi N’tichka with great views over the High atlas Mountains and its valleys. This incredible ancient fortified Kasbah was established in 757 and, situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech, boasts some amazing examples of old kasbahs. Furthermore, this setting has been used for more films than any other location in Morocco; an ex: Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, The Gladiator and much more. 

After lunch, drive onwards to Boumalne dades through Morocco’s film capital. There is a possibility of visiting the World’s largest film studio. Thereafter, travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Pass by Skoura palm groves and the lush Rose’s valley in Kelaat M’gouna then Dades Canyon where we have an evening at leisure.

4th Day : Boumalne Dades >> Todgha Canyon >> Erfoud >> Sahara desert

This morning before departing Boumalne dades, drive a bit further for an amazing panoramic view of Dades Valley and the Mountains beyond. Lastly, a magnificent spot known as Monkey fingers for shooting some photos. From Here, you will set off towards the Sahara with a medley of palm trees, rose fields and magnificent canyons! Along the way, you may enjoy a walk in the towering Todra Gorges (987ft), it is known as Morocco’s Grand Gorge.

Enjoy your lunch in the village of Tinjdad. As approaching the destination, pass through Erfoud, famous for its fossils and marble products. Upon arrival at Merzouga, you trek across the vast rolling dunes of the Erg chebbi by camel for an hour and soak up the breathtaking scenery. Witness the best sunset ever, spend the night in a Berber Camp in the heart of the desert and enjoy dinner under an endless canopy of Saharan stars. 

5th Day : Merzouga >> Ziz valley >> Midelt >> Ifrane >> Fes

After breakfast, we’re back on the road heading for Fes. Today’s journey is long however quite scenic drive, heading up north into the remarkable Ziz Gorge, vast valleys and Middle. Once arrive at Midelt famed for its apple cultivation, Free time to enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant. Afterward, continue along a beautiful route of Berber hamlets towards Cedar forest (full of Barbary Macaque monkeys) and jagged rock faces as you cross the middle atlas mountains and begin to descend towards Fes. On arrival, check-in and free time to relax. Overnight at your hotel in Fes. 

6th Day : Fes Full Day City Tour

After breakfast, you’ll begin your guided tour of the Medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. A visit to the bronze doors of the Royal Palace nearby the Hebrew district ‘Mellah’. Then continue to an amazing panoramic view of the Medina from one of the hills surrounding the city. Thereafter, walk into the Medina to visit Attarine and Bou Inania Madrasas and the center of Koranic studies. Learn the fascinating history of the city, which was founded in the 9th century. In addition to that, visit one of the pungent leather tanneries that Fes is famous for and see the giant dye pits, as well as the bustling Souks, Ess-Seffarine and El-Nejjarine squares and lastly the potteries. 

On the other hand, Fes is home to the world’s oldest university, once the capital of the kingdom before 1912. After lunch at a local restaurant, the remainder of the day is at leisure. You’ve the option to return to your hotel or wander more in the endless alleyways of the world’s largest Medina. 

7th Day : Fes >> Volubilis >> Chefchaouen (Blue city)

After breakfast, we will be heading towards Chefchaouen through Volubilis. Fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Take a stroll in the remains of the Roman and Berber cultures that once occupied it. Thereafter, the journey continues to Chefchaouen in the heart of the Rif Mountains, the entire road is unique for its green-tinted landscape and incredible scenery.

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. You may stroll through the Plaza Uta el-Hammam in the heart of the Medina, and its charming blue and white-washed buildings. Experience the bustle of city life. Perhaps try some local street food in the main square and climb one of Rif mountains to witness a wonderful sunset from a mountain top with excellent views of the surrounding landscape.

8th Day : Chefchaouen >> Tangier >> Asilah

After breakfast in your hotel, drive up north to Tangier, a fascinating Moroccan city. Upon arrival, take a city tour of Tangier. View Cape Spartel, and the Hercules Cave. From here, you’ll get an exceptional view of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Atlantic Ocean as well. You’ll have lunch and a time to enjoy the beautiful coastal city. Afterward, we make our way to the last stop, Asilah, a fortified seaside town on the northwest coast of Morocco. Depending on your arrival time, you may like to take a stroll along the long stretch of beach that starts behind the Medina.

9th Day : Asilah >> Rabat >> Casablanca

After breakfast in your hotel, head to the capital city and residence of the King, Rabat. Upon arrival, take a tour of the City including Hassan tower and the Royal Tomb, as well as the ancient necropolis site of Chellah and Udayas kasbah. After lunch at your convenience, departure to Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. Check-into the hotel, overnight stay in Casablanca.

10th Day : Casablanca >> Marrakech

In the morning, visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s biggest mosques. Afterward, head back to Marrakech for your final night. You will spend this afternoon & evening in Marrakech, enjoying the souks. 

11th Day : Transfer to Airport in Marrakech or Casablanca

Spectacular grand morocco tour

Spent 11 day exploring Morocco with Morocco trip excursions Company. So well organised and with an excellent guide, Moham, it will go down as one of our the best experiences. Not being youngsters, it was great to feel that you were really being looked after, never in an obvious way, just someone always there to keep an eye on you. Loved every minute, including camel trekking the Sahara desert, authentic, informative and incredible landscape.
